We arrived in the forest complex to the twinkle of fairy lights and floor candles lighting the pathway into the visitor centre, and as if by devine intervention the sky opened up with a fine show of Aurora for us as we were shown to our lakeside Finnish sauna. Our guide Mara gave us a good rundown of what to expect and how to keep the sauna going- though we confess the Northern lights specacle kept us distracted for a good portion of our time! “Fantastic way to see principal sites of Helsinki. We got off to explore a few places including the Sibelius sculpture and the main church and square. Our guide, Olga, was fantastic and took us through the mind-blowing city library, one unlike any I’ve ever seen. It has books, of course, but residents can borrow anything from instruments to hand tools to sewing machines to 3-D printers. There are production rooms, meeting rooms, and even a kitchen that can be “borrowed” for cooking with friends. Truly spectacular. Olga gave us so much information about the history of Finland and Helsinki in particular. We thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend this tour.”

“There are no refunds, so I would not book this activity in advance. I would book it the day of the activity so you can check the weather. I ended up paying over $1100 and we did not see anything. Other tours offer some kind of guarantee this one does not. However, our tour guide did try very hard, we drove for over two hours into Sweden but to no avail.”
